We can design a formal garden for you or an informal naturalistic planting. Our main concern is always working with the needs and vision of our clients and the plants suited to the specific site for maximum success and longevity of the planting.
To create a successful landscape and garden plan requires developing a design and planting plan specific to the soil conditions, light and the local environment of the site. We carefully listen to the needs of our clients and integrate the house and the garden and the garden to the local environment to provide for a sustainable environment.
Our main concern is always working with plants suited to the environment and the site for maximum success, longevity and sustainability. We design for four seasons of interest with comprehensive plantings including conifers, trees, shrubs, grasses, perennial plants and bulbs.
We insist on soil preparation before planting by the incorporation of organic materials into the planting beds. Organically rich top soil is one of our greatest losses of natural resources throughout the country and virtually lost in all new housing developments. A new home site has had the topsoil scraped away or buried underneath the upturned subsoil of a very sticky clay medium generally gray or light brown in color. If the turf has been chemically treated, there will be virtually no worms and no microbial activity, in short, dead soil. Other than chemically treated turf, very few plants will thrive in this environment. It is not sustainable except through chemical application. Very few plants will grow successfully in this type of medium.
Our cultivation practices are 100% organic.
